Saturday Farmer's Market and Tee's.

Cold would be the word to describe the market.  The temp read around 44 degrees, but it certainly felt colder than last week.  I kept my Goretex on the entire show.

I'll have to visit Larry's blog to see if he captured the sliver moon Saturday.  It was an orange-ish red low on the horizon.  My crappy camera does not do well in dim light, so it looks brighter than it was... and blurry.

By the time we arrived in Muscatine, the morning light began to shine.   The sun only made a brief appearance and was never out long enough to make us warm.  Regardless, I tried to be in the sunbeam as much as possible .

Cheryl added some new items to the mix for this show.   Basically, we are trying anything that sticks!  Perhaps one of these days she will bring some baked goods.  There certainly are a lot of them at the market currently.   Especially since most of the produce has not yet arrived.

The problem with baked goods is that if there is an off day, ( rain, wind, extreme cold) and the people do not show up,  then you are stuck with a bunch of goodies that will not make it to the next show.   Wasted  time, money and worst of all... FOOD!   I'll probably end up eating the left overs and we can't have that.  There is also the problem with pricing, ( Cheryl likes fancy baking... which has expensive ingredients and require more time.)

For now,  Soap and paper goods are on the menu.   We sold a little bit of everything, pretty much matching what we did last week.   I think that was a bit of a success since there seemed to be fewer people and the baker's were packing up most of their items when the show finally ended.  ( Last week, people sold out of their baked stuffs.)

After the show... time for Tee's! Cheryl skipped the ice cream this time and ordered a burger. She rarely eats anything with meat in it, so that was a bit of a change.   I brought a couple Origami birds as a Tip.  Mostly because I'm cheap, but also so I could find a good home for the models.  Perhaps a customer will take one home.

Today,  wind!  We ran 7 miles at the Kewash trail in West Chester.  It began to rain just after we packed up our tent after the show.  And it did not stop raining until this morning.  I thought the trail would be muddy, ( and it was!)  but thankfully,  only a few spots were mushy and most of the trail was firm enough to bike on. No Mushrooms yet!  But the rain does get me into that frame of mind.

Hope everyone is staying warm where they are.  We have plans for next weekend, and Cheryl is already thinking we may have to expand our "Farmer's Market Area of Operation."  All I know is we are both totally spent after a day of Farmer's Market.   Old age has made us wimps!  Thanks for stopping in.

Man it was cold in the morning!

We are supposed to get two more nights of frost. Geeze, it doesn't feel like spring anymore!
