Yesterday was the Farmer's market. We were a little disappointed that we did not sell out of everything after the first half hour. But we did sell most of our offerings. There was Music there now, and many folks might have been showing up later so they could listen to the music. There were also a lot more vendors there, so competition might have played a roll. Either way, things seemed slower.
We have another Farmer's Market tomorrow in Kalona. A total wild card! Cheryl was baking stuff today, but has decided to bring the soap instead. Her baking skills were simply not working today. In fact, she made this "Rose Water Cupcake" which tasted simply AWFUL! It sounds nice: Rose water flavor. But in reality, it tasted like Soap! Truly terrible!
While Cheryl was destroying the kitchen making dangerous baked goods, I was in the park playing with chalk again. I wanted to stay out of the sun today, so I selected one of the covered picnic areas for the Mural. However, the concrete was polished, making the chalk not stick very well. I had to use water again to try to make the chalk stick. This means that anyone walking on it will be able to scuff it up fairly easily.
While walking through the park tonight, we scoped out the Gecko. Looks like the kids found it and wanted to draw their own version. How cool is that! Cheryl and I found a couple fragments of chalk and drew a couple more lizards around the Mural. I hope the kids can add some more drawings later on.
The Farmer's Market is tomorrow morning, so an early start. It is also in front of a building, on the sidewalk! So we really don't know what to expect. Fingers crossed that we are moderately successful. Hopefully we will at least be able to determine if soap or baked goods will do better there in Kalona.

It's very hard to determine what goes at a Farmer's Market. I'm heading off to the one in our town as soon as it opens. I am going to be getting fresh produce.
How about you selling some of your artwork too? Or is that too crazy?
The lady with fresh pies always sells out early in our town.
Good luck, the drawings are incredible!
