Like return of the Jedi... Only better! (OK, that is a stretch....) Haru survived his ordeal at the humane society and is now a new cat! They Fixed what Nature had "broken" (Or reverse that, it probably would make more sense.) and now he can become an honest to goodness House cat... for real. Hopefully.
We arrived bright and early once again, after catching up on much needed sleep from yesterday. Haru was "Silent Bob" once again... not making a peep on the entire way home. It is rather un-nerving when the outdoor cats are utterly silent as they go on the long trip to the vet. Hiro sounded like we were going to sacrifice him in some volcano! However, Leo and Haru seemed almost to accept their fate.. In complete silence. At least Leo made some noise on the return trip. But Haru was quiet as a clam.
But he is home now. The vet gave us the usual safety briefing for a cat that has just undergone surgery, and wouldn't you know it, Haru said he was not playing by those rules. (Already making us "Vet Disapproved" Cat owners!) He spent most of the day outside doing God knows what while still sporting visible stitches on his private parts. I see how it is, cat... So you are on your own as far as life choices go from now on.
By the way, Vet said he is 5 years Old? FIVE? Five years of living on the streets... In the Ghetto! A vagrant! Homeless! How did he survive it? Or perhaps.... the Vet got the age wrong. They said that Leo was 2 years old back when he go fixed there. Who really knows with these "undocumented cats" roaming the country side. Looking for free handouts and taking away the jobs of the local Farm cats. Someone needs to build a wall or something... Or keep them indoors!
Hiro and Rocket swimming in Stockings. |
I'm just impressed he came back. ( He is currently eating all of the food in the kitchen.) Perhaps he will be more like Rocket than Leo... More indoor, while still retraining his outdoor privileges. Cats are not dogs, after all. And that is one of the things we like about them, after all.
Hiro takes a Break from Shop cat. |
Today we finished about 30 stockings again. (I think) It is difficult to keep count when Cheryl adds customs and subtracts requests every day. But let us say it was about the same as yesterday. Which is technically a good thing? Yeah, I'll look at the positive side this time.
My New Game: Bury the Cat in Stockings! |
The weather climbed up to 65 this afternoon. It IS December, mind you. We only enjoyed the tail end of the day, but I would rather it be pleasant "jacket weather" outside rather than "Deep freeze weather" just yet. Three of the four cats are currently outside, even though the sun has finally disappeared. I guess cats like this time of day.
Not much else to blog about. Cat is fixed, Stockings are made. Weather is nice. Enjoy it while it lasts. Thanks for stopping in.

My brother's cats had a cat door and they could come and go as they pleased. I had such a riot with them. He had 3 sibling cats with very different personalities. One hunter, one grumpy, one lover.
They used the cat door and were trained to go potty outside! How amazing is that?
Love your cats. Haru could be a double for one of my father's finest commercial characters...Morris the Cat.
