And Finally... The April Snow.

Surprise Snow in April...again!
For a brief moment, I actually thought that the snow was a joke.  But there it was this morning,  covering the lawn and the Subie.  It has continued to fall ALL DAY today.   The ONLY reason the snow has not accumulated much more than this was probably because the temps are holding around 33 degrees.

Cheryl clears off the Subie
But that did not matter,  we decided that the wind was tolerable.   And skipping another day on our precious weekend would be a tragedy.   So Cheryl cleared off the car; I hooked up the bikes; Cheryl filled up the Subie:  and off we went to Coralville.

And fills him up with Fuel.
Doubt the Apr 15th Day will be met.
Cheryl was itching to run this morning...  so we headed out at the usual trail head.   I doubt the freakish snow will be missed by the maintenance crews for their April 15th Grand Opening of the Bathrooms.  As you can see,  they  remained locked until the snow threat becomes nil.
Running on Clear  Paths.
Until the trees fall on them.
At the very least, the sidewalk remained clear and visible. Unless you want to consider the fallen trees that littered the path.  Anything that blocks her path to success must be removed.    Cheryl  is so tenacious that way.
Cheryl makes short work of the clearing.

Celebrating 7 mile training run! Pain Free!

Cheryl decided to push herself the full 7 miles for her training run.   The best part was that her Knee held and did not flair up during the run.   Yeah!   She was very happy.
On  to the BIKE!

Then on to bikes.   With the temps still being south of the "cool" side.  Cheryl was not interested in spending much time  riding.   I could not blame her.

And filling her up with fuel!

Let's head back.
After sweating from the run,  she was forced to jump in a bike and feel the wind that is generated from motion.  Being wet and breezy while creating  a windchill only makes you freeze faster.   At times like this,  only a donut will provide the needed motivation to press on.
So to the Dunkin'  we ride!

Refueled and warm,  we head back out and head back home.  Staying warm in our small prison... I mean apartment, seems to be a recurring theme.   We have to work tomorrow,  so I'm sure we are planning an early retirement this evening.  The snow continues to fall, but with a little luck, the accumulation will remain minimal.   We shall see.

We just got a little snow, it didn't amount to much. Doughnuts sound like a good way to end the run/ride:)
