Windy, Rainy, Random Weather In Iowa.

What a Week it has been!   Check out the Weather change.... In IOWA!
Try saying that five times fast!   ( I did; and I sound like Elmer Fudd!)  Last week,  there was snow.  Mid week,  there was 70 degree weather with no wind.   Today,  It is overcast, rainy,  VERY windy, and cold!   No snow... yet!  But it IS predicted later.
Morning Sunrise.

One of the Perks of Working early.
The mid week was a brief torturous moment of  "What could be" if the weather were Normal Spring weather.   We rode our bikes and actually enjoyed it without any heavy clothes.   We even brought the bikes along to Work!   Having the opportunity to ride on sidewalks without bumps and steep hills was a pleasant experience we have missed over the last two weeks.
Red Sky at Morn...  Uh oh!

Friday the 13th begins with a red sky.
Incidentally,  with the earlier rises, we were able to enjoy the sunrise a couple of mornings.   Although the picture does not show it,  the morning sun was red!   Red sky at night, sailors delight,  Red sky at Morn... Sailor be warned!

This happened yesterday.  Friday the 13th!   On that day,  the Cable Guy came and re-cut off our service and has been pestering us for the last three weeks.   He comes during the day while we are at work, so we can not prevent him from his little shenanigans.  However,  I have been able to reattach the cable and our rather expensive service is back up and running without the five day wait.
Our Cable guy is playing games with US!  What  a JERK!

Until!  He cut the cable....  for real!  I still managed to attach the cable.  But this time, without the proper connector.  Long story short:  I hate the Cable company!  ( As mentioned in a previous number of posts.) Cheryl wanted to fire them, but the expense to jump to satellite or the local Phone company was a bitter pill to swallow.  So we are, once again, forced to call for their service.   Even though they are the ones causing the problem.   Even though THEY are the ones forcing us to wait.   Even though I can fix the darn thing myself.... if their employee would just leave us alone.

Ok, enough ranting.
Green Subaru Legacy Wagon. (1998)

Other Potential buyers checking it out.

Fairly clean engine.
Older, but clean interior....
We started today off with a visit to the local Auto Auction.    There were two Subaru's on the block, and we braved the wind and rain to check them out.   The Older Subaru Legacy Wagon was actually in pretty decent shape.  Clean interior, low miles, clean engine,  recent oil changes.   A few scuffs, but no major body damage or issues.   We were not prepared to bid on anything, but wanted to see how much an older car ( 1998) would go for at auction.   We find out moments before the bidding that it was "arrested" for unpaid parking tickets!   Final bid was $400!   Not a bad deal if you ask me.
Final Bid was $400!

It's flaw?   Unpaid Parking Tickets!
It was fun seeing how the auctions work first hand.  There was a 2000 Subaru Forester that was in much worse shape.   Interior was trashed ( including FILLED with trash!)  and the engine was rusty and dirty.  we could not see the miles on it, but the exterior was in pretty good shape.   I am not particularly fond of Foresters or Outbacks personally.  But I might consider one if it looked good, ran, and I had a place to fix it up....  AND it was only $400 bucks!
This weather is for the BIRDS!

The rain started shortly after and it has been raining ever since.   Rain, wind, and cold.   We are trapped inside our small apartment with the cat.   Another weekend wasted on bad weather.   I'm looking forward to biking and planting my plants outside once the weather clears....   Hopefully that will not be long.

That Cable Company sounds horrible. We have Internet through our local telephone company we still have a landline...so we get telephone, TV and Internet and their service is pretty good...:)
