And The Snow Continues!

Cheryl is Dubious.
Snow?
Imagine my surprise when Cheryl informed me that it snowed last night.   How is this possible with temps hitting almost 50 yesterday and projected to reach those temps this afternoon!   But there it was,   White, fluffy stuff all over the lawn.   At least the mud was frozen so I could get the Subie out of the driveway without messing up his clean exterior.  (Cheryl and I gave him a bath yesterday, and Cheryl detailed up the interior with that "New Car" smelly Stuff).   How were we going to run in this?
At least there is Grip for her shoes!

And we have the trail to ourselves.

Well,  We did.   Or at least Cheryl did.   And she did it in Shorts!  Yesterday, we passed several other runners who wore shorts.   Cheryl even began to overheat with her heavy jackets on.   But today,  there was very little wind and they projected a sunny morning and warming day.   Today was supposed to be a good day for a longer run...And shorts.   But they just  failed to mention that snow....
Running in short in the snow...

Running in a winter wonderland!
Luckily for us,  the snow did NOT bring ice with it.   In fact,  the snow freezing on the sidewalk actually gave it a little "crunch" to grip into.  Like Sandpaper!  And as the sun began to melt things, the snow either turned to slush or simply melted away, leaving only wet spots on the sidewalk.

And maybe for my Wallpaper.

Ok,  Now I'm just posting pictures for Cheryl's Instagram.
The best part of the entire run was having the trail to ourselves this morning!   When you suffer through the cold and snow,  you get to see things that others are missing.   Like running through the cotton on the trees!   Or seeing someone in shorts run through a winter wonderland.   Pretty cool!
Almost completely gone mid run.

But the snow was melting fast.
There were a few Eagles around, but most of the geese were absent... for now, anyway.   I'm sure they were camped out in a corn field elsewhere.   Also,  the Deer were trotting around the sidewalks in the park!   We did not see any directly,  but they left fresh track all along the trail.  They possibly were just there, but we never saw them.
Other people finally joined us as
the sun began to warm things.

Cheryl completes a 10 Miler!   In the snow... in shorts.

The Spring-like  weather also triggered the squirrels!   For some reason...  There were easily a dozen  ( 12!)  in one tree yesterday.   It was like watching rats in the sewers of London!  ( Only with fluffy tails.)  They were chasing each other 4 or 5  in a row.  My guess is it is either breeding season... OR they are young ones who are finally able to leave the shelter of the nest.   I don't actually know when the squirrels hook up each year.  I DO know rabbits breed every 6 weeks or so after the snow melts.  ( Someone has to feed all those hawks, cats, and foxes...)

Videos take forever to
download!
Tomorrow,  Cheryl and I begin another episode of scoring at Pearson.  It's the same foreign English test from earlier, and it is only supposed to last a week.  We shall see how things go.   I figure we can use the money and perhaps get something a little more permanent later on.  But for today,   I will probably play the part of sloth and try to prepare myself mentally for being a responsible adult at a job once again.

This is prime mating time for squirrels, next they become very hungry cause they are pregnant! :(
