Let Them Eat Cake! With Strawberries and Real Whipped Cream!

Let Nancy Pelosi flaunt her Expensive Ice cream collection in front of everyone,   Cheryl made a Cake!   ( Hmm,  Is that joke too political? Eh!  We'll find out....)

That is correct!  One of the recipes in the Nordic Baking Book has this strawberry cream cake.   Simple and easy to make,  Cheryl took her stab at it as something different.

The real surprise was the Cream.   Cheryl had to make it from scratch.   Simple enough, just whip the heavy whipping cream while adding a little sugar.  But what a HUGE difference!  Apparently,  we have been eating the wrong whipped cream all this time.

As for the rest of it,  there were no surprising moments of taste euphoria.  It was just a really good berry cake.  The yellow cake was a bit of a challenge, but it worked out in the end and tastes fine.   (Cheryl had to scrap the first yellow cake attempt... Long story. )  Over all, it tasted familiar.   And good.   Nothing too sweet,  Nothing overpowering!  A simple summer cake just about anyone would enjoy.

Hmm,  Other than that,  there really is not much else to blog about.  I spent the majority of my day working on my latest video.  I'm incorporating new ideas and plans into this one, and it is taking a very long time.  I think I finally have about 7 seconds of video!  But not enough to show in this blog posting..   Mostly Cheryl just wanted to show off her cake... So:   Mission Accomplished!

Thanks for stopping in.

I'm drooling for that cake - it would definitely make a wonderful summer treat.
As for Pelosi, I'd like to lock that withered hag in the freezer with her ice cream. My only fear is that they'd thaw her out 100 years later and she'd still be alive...

Oh wow that is a prize winning cake. Fresh strawberries deserve the best of biscuits or cake to make them in the greatest deserts. Good job Cheryl.
