YEAR OF THE ORIGAMI DRAGON!

So I have been working on an origami dragon lately, and I was fairly pleased with the results. It was a new-ish paper and the folding was a little challenging at times.  I liked it so well,  I attempted another with a slightly smaller piece of paper. I still see all the flaws, but as my 4th attempt, I think I’m getting better. And that is what it is all about after all, right? I work on my folding while I give away my mistake/ prototypes, and even successes away. So, enjoy the pics of the dragons, I have to say that I’m relieved to get them out of the house as they bother me every time I look at them….it’s a quirk.

In other news, we sold a couple more stockings! YEAH! Money makes life happy! I hope everyone is having a great week so far, and just remember that it is over half way over now. Friday is just around the corner.

Origami Matador!

Just a quick post to show off the latest origami.   A bull and a matador...I'm quite pleased with the matador as I had to make up the design on my own.   I basically used the "girl in a dress" model with a rectangle piece of red and gold paper.   I even pulled off the color change on my own!    Anyway,  it got snapped up right away at the ACT so I didn't get much of a chance to show it off.    I can always make another one.    Currently I'm working on a opera singer and another Chinese dragon version.    I still have to work on the European dragon.....Ah  the time!

We will be finding ourselves with more time off, however,  as we are zipping through the project and it is beginning to wind down.    The kids are now back at school so Barns and Nobels is rather peaceful at the moment.    Oh!  And we made a sale!   On ETSY!   YEAH!  Money is always welcome at our doorstep!  Hopefully  the drought is over and the rain will start back up again....just like here in Iowa.  Hope everyone is having a great week...and has a great weekend.

Origami Koi.

So I decided that with the three streaming ponds they will soon have here at ACT,  They needed a couple of Origami Koi to prepare for the event.    So I spent a weekend folding up a few with some lotus /lillies to go along with them.    Not much to blog about other than the weather has cooled off nicely and things are winding down here at ACT as well.   Hopefully the stockings will soon begin to take off and we can once again ,   get going on those.   In the mean time,  Enjoy the Koi!
