Subie Gets A Day Of Beauty

Today we finally had the chance to attend to The Silver Bullet Subaru. We have been putting things off for a while, but now that we have several days of free time,  I had the luxury to tackle some of the tasks.  A slight run down on the Subaru Day Spa Treatment:

Touching the Subaru with a Shammy
What could be better?
Today we gave him a bath ( car wash)  Oil change, interior detailing, engine bay cleaning, tire rotation, and  a serious windshield cleaning.  Both outside AND inside.  Touching and working on the Subaru is similar to touching and massaging a Marathon Runner...
Or Car!  Subie Smells Great!
Only it is Way better!   Subie not only looks better afterwords, but he also sounds and runs better.   I would like to think he appreciates the attention.  And there is nothing like the satisfaction of making your car happy.   Cheryl even sprays this apolstery treatment on the seats, making him shine and smell great!   Like aftershave for a car!  Ice Blue Aqua Velva Man....
Check out the Tiny, Tiny cracks...

The check engine light has been coming on with a "small vacuum leak" in the fuel vent system.  I thought we had this pain fixed when we swapped out the Charcoal Canister.   But, alas,  It has continued to plague us ever two weeks or so.  I finally thought that perhaps another chunck of charcoal was plugging things up, and that is when I discovered a crack in the hose leading from the Vent Control Solenoid.    Ever so small and virtually unnoticable to the naked eye.  It has been several weeks before we were able to buy another peice of hose to swap it out with.  Everything check out... so far.  Fingers crossed that we fixed it.

Well,   that was one project that I had for this time off.   I think we did a lot, even though there were a few things that I decided to put off for later.  (or perhaps leave along entirely!  Let sleeping dogs lie) There is still the plants that need to be put in the ground,  but the sunlight is fading and I will have to save that for a later day.

What Dirt will do to your Subaru!
Don't be mistaken for a Ford!
Before and After...  Subaru Clean up.   So Cute!
So that is all!  A shave and a haircut for the Subaru.   Nothing major,  just a spiffing up as we prep for Summer.  He definatly needed it.   Like one of those make overs for a Homeless man.   For Subie,   with all that dust and grime on him, he began to look like a Ford Taurus!   The Horror!  I can't wait to get back to the Small rust chips that this winter put on him.  Nothing a little sandpaper and new paint can't solve.  I'll have to post that one later. In the mean time,  Take care of your Subaru!   They will love you back twice as much... guaranteed!

Wow, I need to detail the inside of my Buick. Weather seems to keep me from doing that but today would have been a good day to work outside.
