New Window, More Stockings.

New Window in the Bedroom.
Leave it to the Landlords to wait until the temps drop and the snow flies to swap out the windows.  We have been living in this apartment for almost 10 years now and are the last apartment with the "Old" windows.  And when I say old, I mean 1950's old!  They are drafty, falling apart, and keep out nothing.  Cold air, warm air, bugs, and eventually small animals!   There was a hole in the bedroom window sill that was large enough for a small squirrel o fit through!
Luckily, it did not take long.

But today the Landlords showed up with a new window to replace that one.   I think they may have been planning on replacing all of them this winter!   But Cheryl told me to tell them to stop with one.   We are knee deep in stockings at the moment and it would really not bee cool if we had to deal with gold wind and gaping holes in the walls as they replace all of the windows at the same time.

Wednesday stockings.

The new window does keep the drafts out. And sound!  But the framing they have is rather unsightly compared to the old stained wooden ones.  (At least the old timers had an ounce of fashion sense.)  Perhaps it will be the perfect reason to eventually move.

Thursday's stockings.
Speaking of stockings.   We have had no less than 20 every day this week!   That is including the 32 we did on Monday!   Things are picking up and we are supposed to try to get every sale we can at this time of year.  It will only be around for another month or so.   With a little luck,  the dial will turn up slightly, but no so rapidly as to cause us burn out.   Also...  not so slowly that we end up missing our goals for the year.   Basically....  a good pace that makes us enough money to do everything we want for the rest of the year...  No pressure.

7 Cats!  7 Years of Stockings from us!
Other than that,   the temps have warmed up to the mid 20's now.   Still plenty of cold to go around though.  Maybe that is a good thing as it triggers people into staying at home and looking for Christmas items from their computers.     With a little luck,  people will remember us and come back again.   We have had lots of people from previous years come in to replace or find another stocking.   Maybe we can be that Heirloom item that everyone wants to pass down to relatives.  Wouldn't that be grand?
