Cheryl's Blue Grass Race In The Yellow Corn Fields.

Cheryl's Victory in front of the Corn.

Well, running at the Kewash trail was not as exciting as the advertisers of the race bragged about.  She ran the Lexington, Kentucky "Run The Blue Grass" Half Marathon.  They claim it is the "Prettiest  Half Marathon In America"  But we have seen the Kewash trail for a very long time...  it is rather boring.   Even now, in the Fall...  The most prominent colors are brown and gold.  There are not many horses... or even cows to look at.  But there are Plenty of Pigs to smell along the way.  Yeah Pigs!

At the "Start Line"

There was one advantage this race had over previous ones... I got to tag along for the entire race!    I had the best spectator spots any race could offer.   I took a bajillion pictures along the way, but ultimately I had to narrow them down to the very best.

"Ain't so special Rock!"
Besides,  Most of the Kewash Trail has already been cataloged in this blog.   Redundancy ain't  that special,  Rock...

Running in the Corn.

A Race we had planned earlier this year before the whole "Pandemic" thing happened.   Thankfully,  the people running the race sent all of the bling to us with the opportunity to make the race virtual.

Finished!  13.1 miles.

Cheryl has been waiting for the perfect weather ever since.  And it turns out, Sunday was that day.   She was a Little Giddy.

Cheryl is Excited to be Running.

The Finisher's Medal.
Her first half marathon of the year.

This will be the first and only half marathon Cheryl will have completed this year.  I guess we should be happy to finish ANY race during 2020.  I think she was a little concerned having not run 13.1 miles all year.   We had been working up to that distance over the last month, but it is always a variable when you have taken a long time off.

Her finishing Time.

BUT... She finished in under 2 hours easy!   She is one of those people who worries about a math test before class and then finishes it before anyone else with a 100% score.   (Those people always annoyed me....) But we are both happy she has not lost all of her MoJo during the country's shutdown.   We only hope that "Real" races will begin again soon enough.

The back side of the Medal.

After the race,  we celebrated with a morning beer and a slice of Pizza.   Similar to what we normally get at the finish line.   What can I say,  only on race day does drinking a beer in the Morning seem totally normal.  It is defiantly one of the things I miss about race days.

Some chalk art.
Some Stockings.

Other than that,  we have been working on Stockings,  Playing with Chalk and trying to enjoy the last remaining cool days of 2020. Hey!  You have to enjoy Something about this year...  I find the outdoors to be the best place to find peace and calm...  When there is no terrible weather condition to deal with...

Things are gearing up!  Hope we are ready!

In the mean time,  I hope everyone had a great weekend and is having a wonderful Monday so far.   Only a few more months till the new year and a new beginning.   But time goes by fast enough,  we should not want to try to rush it too much.   Thanks for stopping in.

I walked four miles the other day and thought I would die:(

It looks like the stocking business is taking over the mushrooms and baking!
