Jingle Jingle Jingle!

Running in the cold.

Outside Stray cat.
It's Christmas Eve and Cheryl and I are spending a Quiet time at home with the cat(s).  (There is one outside who is beginning to think he lives here...)  So what does one do on Christmas Eve after their stressful season of stocking making is over????
Time to shop.

Well,  Habit dictates that you run and bike in the cold weather.   And that is what we did.   Not a terrible thing to do on a Holiday.   But when you do it every day..  it seems a little less than impressive.

While being festively dressed.
Add a cute Chrismas Teddy Bear
to pull everything together.
Then....  Shopping!   For what?   Not much really.   A few nibbles.   Mostly things that fall into the "Holiday Special" category that does not fit in the "My Tummy Aches!" category.    A little shrimp,  crackers,  and some soup.   Actually,  that sounds rather tame and boring...  which pretty much sums up our Christmas.

Cheryl eats her bagel in
Protest of the walk.
And after that, just to kill time,  we went on a Winter Mushroom Walk.   That took about 4 minutes... because...  one:  It was cold.   And two:  Cheryl didn't want to.   To be honest,  I was still a little sweaty and chilled from the morning bike ride, so walking through brambles looking for frozen fungi didn't really appeal to me either.

Puzzle time! Our Pusheen is on the
couch.
With no family near by and no friends,  we have settled in for the night with a puzzle.   We normally are not "puzzle people"  but Julie gave us this one that would fit our Mushroom interest.  Puzzles are a blast to do with about 6 other people.   They all work on a small section while chatting up what they have been up to for the last several months.   It is a great way to visit while doing something that does not involve pretending to care about the various stories.   Just our kind of social event.

Ever have a cat give you a present?

But with only two if us... and a cat that thinks he helps by walking on the puzzle,  there is not much to chat about.   And all of the sections are all yours to put together.   It is rather time consuming and a lot of effort.   But with lots of time on our hands, and nothing better to do.   It seems the "mostly perfect" thing to put our efforts into.   We will give it three days.   It's anyone's guess what happens after that.
We have one almost this size.

And there it is.   A Quiet ( except for the neighbors.... Why are the only neighbors left in the building are the ones above us?)  and mostly peaceful Christmas Eve.   Maybe Cheryl will let me and the cat open our presents early.  Fingers and paws crossed....
