Having Enough Winter.

Too Much Winter
This winter seems very long.  I'm sure the snow and cold temps have something to do with my perception, but Cheryl feels the same way.  And since we have moved to Iowa,  Our snow tolerance threshold has been skewed slightly from the Michigan and Alaska days.  Basically,
we have very little tolerence left for it.

This weather is for the Birds!
Check out the Deep snow.
One thing Iowa seems to have over Michigan and Alaska,  The snow can melt the next day... Sometimes.  I belive the snow has come and gone three times already this year!    In Alaska and sometimes Michigan,  when the snow falls,  You are stuck with it for a while.  So that is one of the perks of living in a "middle of America" state.

Yesterday,  New Snow covers
everything.
Where is the trail?
For example:  Yesterday.. Fresh snow on the trail.   Cheryl did not enjoy running knowing there was a possibility of Ice hidden under that snow.  We ended up limiting the run to three miles.

Today!   Snow is cleared and melting.
Much easier to run on trails like this.
Today!   Sunshine!   Warmer temps and clear sidwalks!  We were able to run the full 7 miles!

Other than that, Cheryl has been trying to baby her hamstring from the last race.   I guess running in those conditions was tense and caused her hamstring to be a little tender.   She seems to have run it out for now.
Hidden ice,  Flying Birds, Walking
Runner.

The Eagles continue to impress me.  They seem to allow us to get closer each time.   Maybe they are getting used to us.  I try to capture them before they fly away, but even then, I rarely get a picture to focus properly.

We have a race coming up this weekend, so I will have to post the usual packet pickup and travel stuff.  For now,  Relaxing with the cat and Cheryl.   What could be better?
