Not only have they been canceling various professional Games left and right ( The entire Basketball Season! NBA!) But they have also been moving or canceling Cheryl's Spring Races!
It is ok though, since we were planning on making that decision anyway. Cheryl has pretty much cancelled all of her hotel rooms and travel activity because of this little flu that is going around.
This post is not meant to be long.. just a record of what happened in the Spring of 2020. So I will run down what we know so far... in case Future Ethan and Cheryl have forgotten the details when they read this post ... from the future.
In Late 2019, the first cases of Corona Virus were reported.... Cheryl and I had already caught the flu in February of this year...2020 ... ( Maybe it has already hit us?) and it was not a very fun time. The rumors of the virus had been circling in the news as new places have been reporting outbreaks. But not here in Iowa.
And then those Cruise Ship Passengers from Omaha had to lie about having the virus so they could go home and infect their state! Now there are a number of Cases in Iowa and even Iowa city! Schools have closed, games canceled, races delayed! Cheryl is in a bit of a "concern" as we stock up on various items we normally do not keep stocked. ( cat food, Soup, baking items, and yess.... Toilet Paper!) 
So riddle me this: Why Toilet paper? Seriously? The world is ending, the sky is falling, and the Apocalypse is upon us.. and people are hording TOILET PAPER? I want to believe they are Millennials Who else other than the generation that is allergic to Peanut Butter would deem Toilet Paper an essential Item for their survival supplies?
As I write this, Cheryl is going down the time line of the first case and reading a number of stories of people who have had it as early as January ( Same time as us!) and they would have never know they had it if they had not enrolled in a flu study. Perhaps many more, like Cheryl and I, never bothered to report it at all!
My guess is that the Covid 19/ Corona Virus/WuHan Virus has already been in the states for months and no one knew about it. Just a hard hitting flu that hit folks without flu shots. ( And maybe even those who had one!) But now it is in the news and bankrupting the Economy. Blame the Higher-ups if you want... I doubt they could have done anything different.
We (2020) want to end "the war(s)"... They(1918) were just getting into one. World War I!We (2020) are quarantining people who test positive. They(1918) threw those people into Hospitals with other people who were already sick and at risk.
People today are canceling events as a precaution. Back in 1918, Philadelphia threw and event in spite of warnings and infected half the city!
Not to mention They(1918) PURPOSEFULLY sent infected soldiers all around the world to help spread the Spanish Flu to the trenches of France! The Perfect Storm!
Bottom line... we have vaccines, information, supplies, and a serious guy in the White house. Making people aware and not causing more harm by encouraging its spread is probably a pretty good strategy. But none of that is going to make the Basketball or base ball season come back. ( not that I care nor watch any of those sports) And it has certainly dealt a blow to Cheryl's running. With a little luck.. this will be completely over by the Fall. We shall see.

Yes, it will be interesting to see how it all unfolds in History. Sorry about Cheryl's races...sign of the times I guess...I heard that Disneyland is closing when has that ever happened??
Thanks for writing this post. It's reassuring to know that rational people still exist (meaning you). The virus is real - - but the news media has gone completely insane with their eternal quest to perpetuate panic.
I wanted to do a post about this on my blog, but I didn't want to infuriate my liberal readers (which consists of about 95 per cent).
