Catch up the blog day.

Lots have happened since my last blog entry. Cheryl and I made some soap and are getting ready to kick off our soap shop. We want to have at least 5 different scents to offer before we list them. Next I purchased a small table saw to help me with my box construction. I also added a couple of pipe clamps to my arsenal. They have helped out gluing up the tops and bottoms of the boxes. And I was able to carve up a new seat as well as one we sold. Staying with the 'cute" theme, I added a squirrel. Cheryl says they are rather popular on Etsy right now. So I'm hoping someone will find this one attractive enough to buy it. I'll show off my table saw another day. Lets just say it was on sale and I needed one that would not break the bank. It works! but the bargain comes from the lack of accessories. It's OK, since I only need it for a couple of tasks at the moment anyway. Right now I'm off to make a sled and possibly a zero clearance insert for the blade.

Yeah! Another sale on Etsy!

With Ebay gone, all my sales will now have to come from our website and Etsy. We sold a Panda today, and I had a little time to make another new design. Cheryl has been picking these since I would most likely go back to making seats that looked like my old ones. I think it turned out ok, but we will have to see if anyone else likes it as well. We chopped up our soap and it is now drying. Cheryl had put in another order for fragrances so we might make another batch later this week. I'm hoping that The soap will be a nice addition to our bath shop. Which is currently only toilet seats. I think this latest batch turned out really well. ( current weight: 269)

Friday soapmaking

So Cheryl and I made soap after our normal Friday activities. I think we are getting better at it. We got our fragrances finally in the mail, along with our long awaited boxes. We had almost two weeks worth of stuff to ship out! By the time we got home, we wanted to make a nice easy batch of soap for the new shop. I'm also going to have to start carving up some new designs once again. I have to figure out what is hot and what is trendy all over again.
A fox squirrel came to our window sill today and the cats had a fun time staring at him. He didn't stay long when I opened the window though. But I did manage to get this nice close up shot of him. The red squirrel is just too fast! It inspired me to try an easy origami squirrel. It looks a little too basic for me. But I think it turned out well considdering I am out of foil paper. It seems the basic designs work well with normal paper

Since Im not really much of a reader and would rather not bore people with my first weblog, I'll try to keep it brief. I'll try to post a little everyday and keep people up to speed on various projects that we start. Thanks for reading. Hope I can keep you interrested
