Tonight
I finished up an order for a customer. The toilet seat
supply is totally gone now and there will most likely be no more of those. Cheryl and I
have been thinking about what it would take to get us back into them, I'm not sure, but the money just isn't' there for the headache that they have become. So we are off to rethink things once again. I still might post a panel here and there from time to time, or maybe a wall hanging. We'll see! I still have to fix up the pics for the bird panel from yesterday. I'll post more later.

Seat carving catchup!
Finished carving the remaining seats tonight. We are going to have to
move quick on that wholesale seat gig, because all the stores seem to be running out of solid wood seats. Well, I might have a few more seats on deck for tomorrow, but for right now, I'm all caught up! yesterday I listed one of my hummingbird cupboard doors,
I have not gotten to list the second one, but for now I'm just too tired.
As for keeping the anime theme going, Here's the closing of Karau, Phantom memory! I love this song, Moonlight! Enjoy!

Monday seat carving.
Carved
up 4 seats tonight, even though only three are going out
tomorrow. ( boxes) It's funny, we sold another Zebra seat! We have sold a grand total of 4 over the last 3 years, and two of them within the last week.
It's funny how trends work. Cheryl hates paining tree frog seat. Other news for the day, Cheryl's shop was featured on the front page of Etsy today! I had to take a picture and show it off!
( She is the one that makes the cute little felt owls!) Now if only wood carvings were featured...

Weekend seats!
I carved up 4 seats tonight! Cheryl and I have discovered a bitter sweet
event going on now at our local home improvement store. They are discontinuing their supply of solid wood seats. This is Good for a couple of reasons, One, they are marked down almost half! Two,
They are solid wood seats, though not oak like I would prefer. The bad news is that they will no longer stock them so when they are gone! It's OVER! We already cleaned our closest store completely out. This now puts our plans of wholesale ordering in a whole new priority. They HAVE to work out. Cheryl and I plan on clearing out any and all seats from our home improvement stores that are within driving distance. We just can't beat the sale! As for other news, Cheryl d
ug out these resin Flies that I tied some time ago. She wants to make key chains out of them. I still have one that she bought me when we were first married! Now I'll have to dig out my fly tying materials and get to work on some more. Hope ever one had a great weekend!

A new Hope!
I'm feeling cautiously optimistic today! Besides selling a could of seats and carving up a couple of rather old designs, Cheryl and I have found
a new supply of seats that may just solve our seat problem for good or at least for a while. A
company that we have checked out before online, sells seats wholesale. When i called them up before, they did not give me a price, and I could not see the quality of the seat so we dropped the idea. However, with the recent development of our stores not carrying the solid wood seat, we have been forced to revisit that path. Tonight we found a store that carried that brand of seat and I was more than impressed with the quality! I say cautiously optimistic, because there is always the chance that things could backfire, ( Murphy's Law!) but, if things work out, we might save ourselves some running around and iron out the problems in time for the Holidays!

Some new seats
Tonight
I carved up two seats. It will take a little creative
assembly to fix it up, but we are seeing if they will have potential. Yesterday I was busy cleaning up my room and setting up a new peg board.
Not much has changed except that I cleaned the stain and poly off the windows and floor!
It probably won't last long though. We are trying yet another scheme to see if we can branch out.

Man! What a weekend!
Not really in a good sense either. Well
I'll skip most of the details and just say that our supplier of toilet seats has once again changed things. only this time for good!
They are now only stocking the veneered seats and thus, ending our relationship! So this weekend has been a mad dash to find a new supply of seats and see what works! All while trying to keep the price within our range. We may have a solution
for the moment, however, this means that toilet seat carvings are now on the "extinction list." I'm racking my brain to figure out another carvings that sells, and Until I find it, I'll just be shooting in the dark. For now, we carved up 4 seats, I'm impressed that we found them! Hope everyone Else's business is not facing any turmoil this week! If things don't change, we may have to rename this blog!

YEAH! more seats sold! ( Keep 'em coming!)
Sold
an additional two seats and added them to yesterdays.
So..4 seats tonight. This means that we are effectively at zero. So we still need more sales to pay the bills etc. Regardless,
we had a couple that were rather odd and old. Namely the sunflower and the dolphins.
It was one of those nights where everything just went "right". The carving, the
painting, the timing. So now we are off to a relaxing evening watching one of the greatest animes out there 'Claymore! With Cheryl. Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Getting closer to catching up!
Tonight I carved up another 5 seats!
We still need more to be back in the black, but we are getting closer.
Tonight's main excitement went to Hiro and his catching another shrew! One small difference from his usual antics were that tonight....he decided he would give it a little taste.
Kinda grossed out Cheryl! Who asked me to remove the remains outside and then
take a full shower to wash off the "germs" Hiro on the other hand, liked the taste, but not the texture. I think he will stick to canned food fro the time being. Fingers crossed for more sales!

The Race to catch up!
So
we sold 4 seats today and I carved up 5. You may
be asking what kind of math is this? Well, you see, through some "Enron" accounting to keep the carving business afloat, there was a little financial juggling that means we have to use money for seats
and pay the bills. It's rather complicated, but bottom line is we are getting the seats out a little later than normal. Regardless, there were some seats that have not been carved up in a while. Namely, the zebra. And, my latest Anime:

Catch up carvings! Are you looking for shooting stars?
Carved
up the remaining seats tonight, and finished
painting the rest of the fish. You can see the difference between the brown trout that are poly ed and he rainbow/brook trout that are not.
Well they all got finished tonight! A couple of things of interest that I did not post on yesterdays post. A Penitent Underwing moth.
He must have just hatched because he is so close to perfect and I have ever seen. We have several of these guys in our collection, ( all slightly different species, but similar in appearance) But they have faded badly and lost that wonderful red under wing color. Oh! And tonight is a meteor shower if you are lucky
enough to be where there are few lights and the moonlight can be shaded. Cheryl and I used to go out to the lake shore and count them. It's quite fun. Hope you can get out there!

Ah! The elusive elongated seat!
I
finished carving the last two seats for the week, and we had to , once again, drive all over for them. The stores have been rather delinquent in keeping their stocks filled. On a bright note, we found the location of a box distributor that could save us money on shipping materials! Other than that, not much else going on tonight, I did manage to get over yesterdays post and just decided that it will remain one of the great mysteries of the world. (Fighting the urge to go off again. Hold it! Hold It!) IT"S LIKE TAKING A BITE OUT OF A DOUGHNUT AND GOING BACK TO THE SERVICE DESK TO ASK FOR A REFUND????WHY??? Sorry, I feel a little better, I just have to not think of it. Tonight's Anime Theme is from Shana I've been watching it on Uber Anime. I love the opening theme. this version is the full 4 min version ...Enjoy!

The Unexplainable customer.
Have you ever had something hit you out of the blue that just BLOWS YOUR MIND? I have been wrestling with this event all day trying to figure it out. Let me explain. Today, we were in the
RETURN and EXCHANGE lane at Walmart returning a broken item. We had our receipt and everything was in order. I glanced over at all the items that people had returned that were roughly sorted in various carts and noted all the variety. The lady in front of us had niether her reciept nor an ID from the sound of it. ( it took forever) When it was our turn, we stepped up and the customer service rep quickly processed our item and refunded our money. AT THIS POINT>>> I glanced over to see an OPENED FROZEN DINNER that someone had returned. The note on the package...I kid you not "The Chicken is too tough to CHEW" Someone had bought a frozen dinner, took a bite out of the chicken .....AND RETURNED IT FOR A REFUND! My head is still spinning. I don't know where to start with this. The dinner cost probably $3 and this person opened and ate it then returned it to the customer service desk. I even asked if what I was seeing was REAL. THE customer service lady assured me that this person does this rather frequently. AM I CRAZY? Or would a "NORMAL" person , if they bought food they did not like, just throw the rest of the food away and make a note never to buy that food again? I have seen ladies at Hobby Lobby return 25 cents worth of beading material and thought that was nuts as well. But a HALF EATEN MEAL? AM I MISSING SOMETHING? This situation is on such a level that I will NEVER understand. I could go on, but there is no point, I just simply can't understand this person or anyone like them.
As for tonight, I carved up 5
seats and we will have to go on another elongated chase tomorrow. I took some daytime pics of the front yard with the cats
inspecting the trees. You are welcome to comment, but please do not try to defend this person. There is probably nothing you could say to convince me that this person is not crazy.
