So You Thought You Would Have An Easy Weekend????

Well those dreams were dashed... By the tidal Wave of stockings!   Cheryl had plans to take Saturday off from stockings so we could catch our breath and put up the Christmas Tree.    But as luck would have it,  we sold 20 stockings and had an additional 5 on the side, waiting to be done.   We ended up doing 23 stockings yesterday just so we could stay caught up.

And then today... 45 stockings!   To put this in perspective.   IT roughly takes us an hour to do 4 stockings.   That is just the sewing up part!   Cheryl still has to design them and I have to talk to people about their orders.   Sometimes that can take an additional 3-4 hours!     Then there is the packaging,  pick up and shipping... all takes time and counts, but we rarely factor that into our day.

For this reason, we usually cut things off at 30 stockings.   And that is pretty much what we did today.   That leaves 15 orders on the table for tomorrow AND the 5 NEW  Custom designs Cheryl worked on this evening.  Looks like tomorrow might be another long day.

But we did manage to get the Christmas Tree up and mostly decorated yesterday.  The cats did not bother climbing up into it, but do enjoy climbing under it to go to sleep.     I'm impressed because,  the opposite corner of the living room is filled with Bolts of Felt.  Our Livingroom closet is filled with Soap and we are running out of room and places to put our stocking supplies.    Cheryl has "theoretically" already ordered all of the felt for the year.  But  if things continue at this pace, we may be in danger of shortages...

I have already gone through an entire bolt of red felt for the last two days.  Red is the most popular stocking color, so we have quite a bit of it.  However,  we do not usually go through things this fast until after Thanksgiving.    Looks like we may be in for a wild ride this year!   ( Yeee HAaaawww!)

We have a New Shop Cat!  Rocket, the neighbor's cat who lives with us, is currently bidding for the title of "Official Shop Cat" for Allenbrite Studios.

I think he may feel like he needs to wrestle the title away from Hiro.  But Hiro never really wanted the job to begin with.   In the past,  The Role of "Shop Cat" fell to Rasha  and Red.  Hiro just never seemed interested.

But Rocket has all the right personality quirks that would make him a good shop cat.   He is in the way,  Constantly seeks attention,  lays on important items, and plays the "cute Card"  whenever Cheryl had had enough of his antics.   Who knows how long this will last.   But it is nice to have a distraction from the intense labor of Stocking Making.

That is all for now.    Time to relax and salvage the rest of the evening while I can.   Thanks for stopping in. And I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.
