Carving for the Fourth

This is a carving blog, after all. I finished carving and painting 9 seats last night but was to tired to post anything. I Also started another tree carving, only this time I brought the tree to me. A windfall oak tree in the back! I took a large chunk of it and with a lot of industrious leverage, and mechanical advantage, I managed to pull it out of the woods and onto my back porch. ( SOLO might I add!) This might sound simple, but the log is quite large and I did not use any tractors, quad runners or any other motorized help. Besides they probably would have gotten stuck back there anyway. So I worked on it a little tonight. I'll post more tomorrow as it progresses.
