So after several misses, Cheryl and I finally snapped a pic of the elusive mall cow!
We have seen him and we never had the camera. And when we did have it, he was a no show. So finally we were able to pose and smile. Too bad we never got one of that also elusive Culvers Cone! Besides that, we noticed that Iowa seems to lack the fall colors that we grew up with in Michigan.
Not that there is NO color, rather the colors are either gold ( the turning corn)
or brown ( soybeans) The trees are all still green! I know that this is still early October, but I expected at least a little orange or red or something. Well anyway, the sky is blue and the nights are getting colder. It's pleasant weather despite the bland colors. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

That is one of my favorite sandwiches to eat at the mall. Our wet weather is screwing with our fall color so I don't know how good the show will be this year. There are some maples out there that will do their thing. I have never seen the cone, I will have to keep an eye open.
