The Big Stocking Catch-Up! Finally!

39 stockings to catch us up!
This catches us up for Wednesday.
Yesterday,  It was cold and windy and MediaCom flaked out on us.   Oh sure,  Blame the wind....Maybe a telephone pole "Blew Down".   Whatever the reason,  it happened during stockings on the eve of us finally catching up all of the orders!

This is rather upsetting.

There we were at 11:00 in the evening and we were unable to print the labels or pack the orders.  And it was the day we finally caught up everything.  Since Thanksgiving, we have been up to three days behind on orders.   This means orders on Monday ship on Thursday.   I can't even remember the last time we have been able to take a break.

Stockings are Finished!
Only 14 today!
It doesn't matter much as today we were able to finally pack up things this morning and get them in the mail.  The stockings seem to be tapering off by themselves now and things are looking bright and clear for the weekend. Fingers crossed.

In the mean time, Yesterday Cheryl ran a short two miles in the bone chilling wind.  We chose Handcart Park since it was a little more sheltered than the Coralville park we usually attend.

The Wind through the Tall Grass
This allowed me to capture something I had been wanting for a while now.   Next to the Rugby Field ( yes, Iowa plays Rugby) there is this tall grass that was this wonderful golden color last month.  Well, the color has faded a bit, but the wind added a nice calming touch to the scene.  In a small way, I was able to capture the moment.

Other than an occasional weird request, we have been able to stay on top today,   having only 14 orders to fill.  The Shop cat has been more helpful now that the sub-zero weather has settled in for the season.  I'm not sure what we have planned for the remainder of the evening, but possible "race Prep will be on Cheryl's mind.   The Santa Shuffle is coming up on Sunday ( I think)  With Saturday being our travel time....with possible snow.   My hope is that it is far enough south to keep the extreme snow from being a problem.   Can't wait!

That grass really invades and takes over larger territories once it gets started. It is beautiful but one ditch on a road between here and Moran is loaded with growth and it just keeps coming our way. I hope all settles for you two soon and rest and relaxation is in the future.
